The truth is that we don’t need everyone to like us, we need a few people to love us. Because what’s better than being roundly liked is being fully known—an impossibility both professionally and personally if you’re so busy being likable that you forget to be yourself.

Bloomberg’s Willow Bay speaks with Jessica Herrin, chief executive officer of Stella & Dot, Theresia Gouw Ranzetta, managing partner at Accel Partners, Selina Tobaccowala, product and engineering senior vice president at SurveyMonkey, and Carolyn Everson, Facebook’s vice president of global marketing solutions, about the role of women in the technology industry.

// Day 3: PyLadies Lynn Root Sharing on Women in Tech//

You know your jetlag is over when you sleep through an alarm (iPhone right next to you).

After another day of programming, the highlight of the day was a surprise visit by Pyladies SF’s founder Lynn Root (one of us asked if she changed her last name to suit a programming career, turns out it was real. Definitely a cool name to have!).

Lynn shared about her background and experience.  Coming from a finance/economics background, she stumbled upon programming from her path to pursuing a PhD.  She is very passionate about supporting women in technology and is definitely very resourceful.

It is really exciting to have a vibrant network of female entrepreneurs / engineers in the city!

Here are a list of resources that Lynn shared with us.  Thanks Lynn!
